What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?
Submitted by Kadeeae.
Oh it is so hard to just pick one favorite.
Probably my favorite is Sweet potatoes
followed by stuffing
and then mashed potatoes and gravy mmmmm
But really it is all so good!
It's dedication time. What song are you sending out, and who is it dedicated to?
I would dedicate to my husband our wedding song - So Much in Love, by All 4 One. I love this song so much! And after 13 years together this is so true and I love him even more! (ok I know this is a sappy cheesy answer but it's the truth).
Here is the lyrics
as we stroll along together
holding hands walking all along
so in love are we two
that we don't know what to do
so in love (so in love)
in a world of our own (so in love)
as we walk by the sea together
under stars twinkling high above
so in love are we two
no one else but me and you
so in love (so in love)
so much in love (so in love)
so in love (so in love)
so much in love (so in love)
we stroll along together
i tell you, i need you oh so much
i love, i love you my darling
can you tell it in my touch
as we walk down the aisle together
we will vow to be together till we die
so in love are we two
just can't wait to say i do
so in love (so in love)
in a world of our own
(so in love) so in love
(so in love) are you and i
(so in love)
baby, i hope you realize
that you mean so much to me(that u mean, that u mean so much)
you're everything i ever wanted in a woman(your everthang,everthang,everthang,)
touch to feel your body close to me(I love, I love u my darlin)
and i just want to hold you in my arms forever
can you tell it in my touch
as we walk down the aisle together
we will vow to be together till we die
so in love are we two
are we two just can't wait to say i do
so in love (so in love)
are you and i (so in love)
so in love (so in love)
are you and i (so in love)
(so in love) so in love
(so in love) so in love
(so in love) so in love
(so in love) so in love
What would you consider to be your 15 minutes of fame so far in life?
It was certainly a very short short fifteen minutes if there ever was LOL
I don't think I've ever had fame for anything...or does fame = widely known in your community for doing something?
or does fame = media coverage?
If fame = widely known for something, then I would say my 15 minutes of fame was getting knocked up my senior year with *gasp* twins. Hey when you live in a small town..it makes for huge gossip. Hmm yet I don't quite think that's what this question meant..
so if fame = media coverage I would say it was the time I got a television station's consumer action team, to take on UHaul (those bastards!). When we moved from Minnesota to Iowa, we reserved one of their largest trucks for the day of the move. After all, one trip moving is preferred when you have a 7 hour drive one way. We had a deadline because my inlaws were driving up to help.
The day of the big move we got up early and Jeff went to get our truck...they had none for us. They'd double booked them. They kept promising to find one somewhere, however there were about 20 other people at just this location, also double booked. We were supposed to have had that truck loaded up before the inlaws arrived that evening, so we could depart the next morning!
All day and in to the evening my husband calls and calls UHaul...'sorry still no truck sir'. Did I mention we reserved this 3 months in advance??
Finally at about 8pm we they called to offer us a truck, but it was only 1/2 of the size of the original and we had to go get it right away as the UHAUL place it was at closed in an hour and we were an hour away.
We started loading at 10pm and worked unti 2am and up again at 7am. We had that truck filled by 10...but
only half of our stuff was in it. That meant traveling back to MN, loading up again, and traveling back to Iowa. 21 hours on the road instead of 7! We were already exhausted. Then we realized something else...UHaul charges by milage and how many days you have it! It was going to cost us a fortune..Not to mention the added gas. We were really pushing our budget to the limit with this move as it was.
We talked to the UHaul place that we'd reserved the truck..we talked to the UHaul place in Iowa that we were eventually to return the truck, and we talked to the national customer service hotline. Not once did we even get an apology. So I contacted a newstation in Minneapolis and told them our story. They took an interest and poked around and found others who had similiar experiences. We also filed a complaint with the better business bureau.
Once the newsreporter started digging in, she was able to get access to the top of the company and get us someone to really to talk us. They ended up not charging us for the extra miles and extra days...hmm still never an apology though.
Anyhow, they did a whole story about it on the news...guess that's my 15 minutes of fame LOL
TV, books, movies: Who's your favorite fictional father?
For TV it would be Bill Cosby on the Cosby Show. He always seemed to be fun and creative in handling his kids and he was always present. I won't dis my own dad on father's day so I'll just say I thought Bill Cosby would be a cool dad.
Movies or books...I would have to say my favorite is the same from both movie and book. It's Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird" Atticus was a good father and ahead of his time while still having some good old fashioned advice.
What is the most interesting class you have ever taken?
Submitted by Melissa.
Hmm most of my classes were pretty boring (how interesting is MySQL and VBScript?)
I think the most interesting class I ever took was American Women in History. I learned that the majority of history courses taught in k-12 are from the point of view of men...and not just all men but influential Caucasian men. This class was different because it had us look at documents written by women and other minorities from the 1400's through present history. Their point of view was very different. Fascinating stuff!
Ok, maybe not everyone would think so LOL but I enjoyed it.
